Purple Land

So I called my friend, up at NYU,
And she said, "Me and my whole state are Blue,"
We're dazed, we're down, we don't know what to do,
Surrounded by this sea of Red."

I told her,
We all live in a Purple Land,
Every woman, child and man,
So don't get too proud. Don't misunderstand,
'Cause this great nation is just one big Purple Land.

Now my Texas home, is almost solid Red,
And some folks I know, well that goes to their head,
And they say, "Those blue states, there as good as dead."
But I say, "Not so, not so fast...."

Because...
We all live in a Purple Land,
Every woman, child and man,
So don't get too proud. Don't misunderstand,
'Cause this great nation is just one big Purple Land.

The Red and Blue map lies subtly,
When it's drawn in primary color.
Cause the truth's always shaded differently,
And it's never just one or the other.

And we all live in a Purple Land,
Every woman, child and man,
So don't get too proud. Don't misunderstand,
'Cause this great nation is just one big Purple Land.

This great nation is just one big Purple Land.
