Dennise always tells me to remind people that it's not about my Mom. So, OK: it's not. But it is loosely based on a woman I once knew; and countless others like her. She was facing midlife and found herself in a place she'd never envisioned...trapped, like so many of us, between reaching out to try something new, and clinging to the dream of how she thought life was "supposed" to turn out. And she really did go bungie jumping. It was the image of this middle-aged woman in free-bungie-fall that inspired the whole thing.

We recorded this song "live" with both the guitar and vocal at the same time. It only took about two takes to get this cut.

Sometimes, it's not til we have absolutely nothing left to lose that we finally jump and realize that the chord has been there all along.
